The Marvel Universe of super heroes and villains will be infiltrating Disney Infinity universe this fall in the 2.0 edition.

Polygon reports Disney Interactive president Jimmy Pitaro confirmed the merge during an event in Los Angeles. A video was shown featuring "Avengers" characters such as Hawkeye, Hulk, Black Widow, Captain America Iron Man and Thor, as well as "Guardians of the Galaxy" members like Rocket Raccoon and Groot.

John Blackburn, vice president and general manager of Disney Infinity, confirmed content from the original Disney Infinity will carry over to the 2.0 Edition, and support all toys, play sets, power discs and more.

"Flying in 2.0 will introduce hovering and forward flight, and players will be able to engage in combat in both modes," Polygon reports. "Characters will also be able to perform super jumps, Vignocchi said, and climb up the sides of buildings. The 2.0 Edition will also raise the level cap for characters and expand upgrading and customization with a skill tree-style interface."

According Mashable, Disney has created a unique universe for Marvel characters in Disney Interactive 2.0. Pitaro told the crowd bringing in the beloved Marvel characters to the title was more than just placing them into the old universe. Gamers will participate in scenes from "Marvel Manhattan," Disney's twist on New York City.

"Disney Infinity: Marvel Super Heroes also includes a host of new gameplay features, including advanced character controls and building abilities, many of which were shown onscreen during Wednesday's presentation at the ArcLight Cinerama Dome in Hollywood, Calif.," Mashable reports. "While the original Infinity characters weren't all that different from one another in terms of abilities, the Marvel characters' powers are as different in the game as they are on the big screen."

Disney Infinity 2.0 will be compatible with PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Wii U, PC and iOS tablets and smartphones.
