Rihanna might be a little too sexy for Instagram. The photo sharing site reportedly removed a topless photo Rihanna posted and then sent her a warning telling her to stop uploading semi-nude pictures or her account would be deleted, TMZ reports.

Reportedly Instagram felt Rih had crossed a line when she posted a photo from her Lui magazine shoot, where she graces the cover of the French publication in her underwear. The risqué photo shows Rihanna lying back sipping a drink with her nipple exposed.

Shortly after Rihanna posted the photo to her more than 12 million Instagram followers, the site took it down and fired off the email. According to TMZ, she responded by posting the banned photo on Twitter. The "Stay" singer also uploaded a meme that showed a slightly heavier Rihanna posing in an oversized jacket.

"Rih's Next Magazine Cover If It Was Up To Instagram," the captain read.

At first it was rumored that Rihanna was stripping down for Playboy magazine after she was spotted posing for cameras in a bikini top (and nothing else) in Hollywood Hills at the beginning of April.

Media Take Out was first to report on the Playboy rumor saying that certain clues gave it away, for instance, Rih was spotted wearing a Playboy jacket shortly after the shoot and one of the guys on set had the brand's jacket on too.

"Y'all may think it's coincidence, but that's enough evidence for us," MTO wrote at the time. "When the rest of the world figures this out, and it's the biggest news in the country, make sure you remember where you learned about it first - on MediaTakeOut.com."

Back in 2012, there was a rumor that Rihanna was going to do a shoot for Playboy but had backed out of fear of what her fans would say, The Hollywood Gossip reports.

"Rihanna and Hef [Hugh Hefner] are in top secret discussions at the moment. He sees Rihanna as the best music star to have on the cover," a source said at the time. "Rihanna has got naked many times before and is very self-assured about her body. She already tweets topless photos and doesn't get paid for it. Here she would be earning more than a million for exactly the same thing."
