Season 5 of AMC's "The Walking Dead" is still several months away but the cast and crew have been dropping little hints about what's coming up to get fans excited and prepared.

According to Moviepilot.com, showrunner Scott Gimple was asked in a recent interview about the fate of the main characters and would some - or one - be killed off in Season 5.

"Nobody's too important to kill off. I'm not thrilled to say that, but it's just the nature of this show," Gimple said. "Anybody can die, anybody will die, and my goal is that it not just be for shock value and that it serves the story. People might last a good long time, or they might be taken tomorrow."

So basically that means no one is safe and fan-favorite characters like Rick Grimes, Michonne even Daryl Dixon could get the ax at any time. Last season, two main characters (Hershel and the Governor) were killed off.

Gimple also said that Season 5 is going to be very different than what viewers saw in the last half of Season 4.

"These next eight [episodes] are going to be something very different. Things are just going to have a much different tone and a much different practical reality moving forward," he said. "The season has a number of shifts of location, and even of the tone. But the tone for most of the season is very, very, very intense. {It's] going to be very different from the last half-season, and I loved the last half season, but it was always planned out in my head that there would be these big shifts, and we're about to have one of those big shifts."

In an interview with Larry King, the showrunner said that Season 5 would have a lot more action than usual. The show ended its fourth season with Rick and the other characters trapped inside a train car at Terminus.
