St. Louis (12-10) can split the series with a win on Thursday.  The Cardinals are coming off Wednesday's 3-2 loss, where starting pitcher Michael Wacha walked four batters -- including two for scores -- despite throwing a career-high 10 strikeouts.

A solo homer from Mets first baseman Lucas Duda proved to be the deciding score.

Cardinals pitcher Lance Lynn (4-0, 3.42 ERA) starts on Thursday.  He's coming off a 4-3 win at Washington in which he gave up one run before being pulled in the sixth inning.

"I'm not going to lie to you, my stuff was better than it's been all year," Lynn told the Associated Press.  "That's the disappointing thing about the way the game finished for me."

Opposing Lynn will be Bartolo Colon (1-3, 5.40).  The right-handed veteran hasn't received much run support from the team, a reason for his losing record.  He's received an average of 2.88 runs over his four starts and was backed by only four total runs in his three losses, according to the Associated Press.

Colin is coming off a 7-5 loss on Saturday to Atlanta, who took him for three earned runs through seven innings.
