Jodie Foster is a married woman.

E! News reported that the Oscar-winning actress married 44-year-old photographer Alexandra Hedison, over the weekend. A representative for Foster confirmed the couple's nuptials. Although the location of the wedding wasn't specified, a source told E! that the couple, who started dating sometime last summer, wrote their vows.

E! reported that rumors about the two began to circulate during the summer, after the two were photographed together at Fox Studios in Los Angeles, and then out to dinner with friends a few days later.

Last year, both Foster and Hedison were at the opening of Alan Cumming's "Macbeth" in NYC, but were not photographed together.  Foster dated producer Cydney Bernard for about 20 years prior to getting involved with Hedison. The couple split in 2008, but have two sons together: Charles, aged 15, and Kit, aged 13.

Hedison dated Ellen DeGeneres for over three years, however their relationship ended in 2004, reportedly after the former Oscar host met actress Portia de Rossi, whom she has since wed.

During the 2013 Golden Globe Awards Foster talked about Bernard in her acceptance speech for the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement Award. Foster declared that she needed privacy, while trying to figure out her life.

"This is not going to be a big coming-out speech tonight because I already did my coming out about a thousand years ago back in the stone age - in those very quaint days when a fragile girl would open up to trusted friends and family and coworkers and then gradually proudly to everyone who knew her," she said during the awards.

Hedison, who is also an actor, has had her photography shown in New York and Los Angeles. Her acting gigs include playing Dylan Moreland on Showtime's lesbian drama series, "The L Word," for three seasons.
