A 24-year-old California woman died after collapsing at Coachella Music and Arts Festival during the first weekend. According to the New York Daily News, Kimchi Truong, of Oakland, was rushed to the hospital after passing out by a taxi-stand.

Police officials said Truong sought medical attention from a Coachella medical tent around 2 a.m. on Sunday Apr. 13. The college student was helped and taken to a taxi-stand where she became unresponsive.

Truong was then rushed to John F. Kennedy Memorial Hospital, Riverside County Coroner Stanley Sniff said. The California State-East Bay student was later taken to Desert Regional Hospital where she died around 2:30 p.m. on Apr. 17, KTLA reports.

A toxicology report was conducted but could take up to several weeks to reveal the cause of death. The coroner suspects an overdose of "illicit drugs or alcohol" could have been a factor.

Concert promoter Goldenvoice issued a statement about the death saying that it was an "unfortunate but isolated incident."

"We are saddened to learn the individual has died," the promoter said in a statement, according to the Daily News. "We believe this to be an unfortunate but isolated incident. Our thoughts and condolences are with the family and friends."

Ben Guitron, an Indio police spokesman, said he was not sure if this was the first time a concertgoer had died after being taken to a hospital but admitted that people have died after leaving the concert and returning to their hotels.

"Whatever they got involved in, we just know they were a concertgoer," he said, KTLA reports.

In 2008, 21-year-old Benjamin Muller was found unconscious about a quarter mile from the Southern California festival. According to reports, he was at a campground on private property.
