The Cincinnati Reds play the Chicago Cubs on Friday.  The game begins at 2:20 p.m. ET.  Listen to the live radio broadcast below.

Chicago (4-10) hosts Cincinnati on Friday in the first of their three-game series.  The struggling Cubs hope to snap their four-game losing streak when they send pitcher Jeff Samardzija (0-1, 1.29 ERA) to the mound.

While Samardzija has a low 1.29 ERA, he doesn't have the wins to match it because of a continual lack of run support.  He's received three runs of total support in his last three starts, according to the Associated Press.

"We could use a nice outing from Jeff to stop this roll a little bit, but the reality is that we have to grind out at bats and get some timely hitting," Cubs manager Rick Renteria told the team website, via the Associated Press.  "I know they are all clichés, but we need to drive in some runs.  It's just a matter of staying within ourselves and not trying to do too much.

"Hopefully, we can get that started at home."

Reds pitcher Alfredo Simon (1-1, 1.20) is scheduled to oppose Samardzija.  Simon has also dealt with a lack of run support, receiving just two runs through his two starts.  He's coming off Saturday's 1-0 loss to Tampa Bay, whom he gave up only one run to.

Cincinnati is 6-9 on the season.
