A 21-year-old Australian woman who hit a cyclist told authorities she didn't care about the man's injuries because she would have to spend a lot of money to fix her car, according to The Standard.

Kimberley Davis was texting when she slammed into a man with her car on September 20, 2013.  The accident left dents in her car and the victim in the hospital for three months after suffering a spinal injury.

The Standard reports Davis called emergency responders, but parked 300 feet away from the victim and didn't offer any help to him.  Authorities interviewed Davis about the accident when they arrived, where she denied texting while driving and couldn't "care" less about the cyclist's injuries.

"I just don't care because I've already been through a lot of b*******t and my car is, like, pretty expensive and now I have to fix it," she told a responding officer two days after the accident. "I'm kind of pissed off that the cyclist has hit the side of my car. I don't agree that people texting and driving could hit a cyclist. I wasn't on my phone when I hit the cyclist."

Though Davis denied texting while driving, records proved she used her phone 44 times during her drive, including receiving a text 51 seconds before making the call to emergency responders, according to The Standard.

Davis pleaded guilty on Monday to dangerous driving and must pay a $4,500 fine, according to The Huffington Post. Davis liscense was suspended following the accident.  Davis posted on her Facebook she would be able to drive again on May 23.  However, a judge added nine months to her suspension after she pled guilty.

The victim is reportedly still recovering from his injuries.  The victim suffered from lacerations to his body, a broken toe and a spinal fracture that required surgery.
