Dennis Rodman ripped Barack Obama in an impromptu interview on Friday.

Rodman spoke to a TMZ reporter and said, "We got a black president who can't even go over talk to Kim."

"Obama can't do s***," Rodman said.

Rodman's outburst followed the announcement of his planned trip to North Korea on August 1. He intends to visit North Korea and sway his friend, Kim Jong Un, to release imprisoned American citizen Kenneth Bae.

"I'm going to try to get the guy out," Rodman said.

North Korea sentenced Bae to 15 years of hard labor in April for engaging in "hostile acts" against the country while working as a tour operator there, according to Epoch Times.

"It's going to be difficult, because I think his nationality is false, his background," Rodman said, referring to Bae.

Rodman asked Kim on Tuesday via Twitter to "cut Kenneth Bae loose." He insisted that he is not a diplomat, but he is willing to do everything in his power to urge North Korea to release Bae. TMZ asked if Rodman thought he could make a change.

"He put those missiles back in storage, right?" Rodman answered.

The former NBA star has become an unofficial ambassador to North Korea after becoming friends in February with the dictator. Rodman said he has been in contact with Kim since his return to the States through the dictator's "people," and that he is looking forward to visiting his friend again in August.
