Disney's live-action "Sleeping Beauty" remake "Maleficent" might be a little too haunting for its young viewers, according to analysts.

The New York Post reports the film's budget was $130 million and with a big budget comes big expectations. Analysts are skeptical a Disney film aimed towards young adults rather than at small children will translate into box-office success.

"[E]xpectations for a 'Maleficent' write-off seem relatively widespread,"Wells Fargo's Marci Ryvicker wrote in a report, according to the Post. (Click here to read what other analysts have to say)

However, Angelina Jolie's villainous role might be enough to draw viewers in. Jolie makes for a beautiful, elegant but frightening Disney villain. The actress recently talked to Entertainment Weekly about playing Maleficent in the upcoming film.

"Maleficent was always so elegant. She was always in control. And to play her was difficult," Jolie told EW. "I worked on my voice a lot. She's bigger than me. She's on a different level of performance than I have ever done. She's very still. She's very sure of her voice. I kept playing with these different types of British voices, making my voice darker and scarier."

"Maleficent" will be released to theaters on May 30. Check out the trailer and the official film synopsis below.

"'Maleficent' is the untold story of Disney's most iconic villain from the 1959 classic 'Sleeping Beauty.' A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land's fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal-an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king's successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom-and perhaps to Maleficent's true happiness as well."
