A San Francisco-based hotel is offering a free drink to those who visit the bar wearing their Google Glass.

Tired of people looking at you strangely while you're sitting in a bar with your Google Glass on? Well, there is one place where you can relish a free drink just by wearing Google's high-tech computer eyewear. The San Francisco-based Stanford Court hotel is offering a free drink to those who visit the bar wearing their Google Glass in a bid to establish itself as a tech haven. Started last week, the promotion offers a free mocktail to the Glass Explorers at the Aurea Lounge, the hotel's lobby bar.

"The complimentary drink is geared toward the local tech crowd who own a pair, and might feel like an outcast or nuisance due to the recent string of negative press," a hotel spokesperson wrote in an e-mail statement to SFGate. "[We] want them to feel at home."

The Stanford Court hotel's initiative comes as a treat to Glass owners, after an incident involving a woman who said she was attacked outside the Molotov Bar in Haight Street for wearing the glass and also a string of bars and restaurants banning the use of Glass. Stanford Court hotel not just allows users to wear the Glass inside the bar but also let them use it.

The hotel asks guests wearing Google Glass to take a snap using the eyewear and tweet it using the hashtag #stanfordcourt. This not only encourages Google Glass owners to take advantage of the free drink offer and be able to use the eyewear without the fear of being asked to leave, it also promotes the hotel, in turn generating more business.

The hotel is not just limited to the Glass owners, but also welcomes non-Glass owners, said general manager Michael Baier in a statement to USA Today. The hotel is also planning to offer new Google Glass packages in the future, which would include stay and Glass access from the hotel's inventory.

Baier says a couple of dozen people have taken advantage of the offer and he noticed that people seem to go for pricey drinks.
