Move over, Galaxy Gear! Google has unveiled their Android-operated smartwatch to introduce into the wearable tech market on Tuesday, USA Today reports.

The smartwatch is part of Google's Android Wear, which aims to give users a variety of styles when it comes to their wearable tech.

"(Wearables) understand the context of the world around you, and you can interact with them simply and efficiently, with just a glance or a spoken word," Sundar Pinchai, Google's senior vice president of Android, Chrome and apps, said in a statement.

The watch will provide notifications for information you desire immediately, such as when your next meeting is, how long it will take to you arrive to a location in current traffic, your favorite team's score at the end of a game, and so on.

"Pinchai says the first Android Wear devices will launch later this year," USA today reports. "Google is working with companies including Asus, HTC, LG, Intel and Qualcomm to create chips and smartwatches that leverage Wear. A developer preview is available starting today."

Google hasn't provided spec information for their newest line of wearable tech, but Android Wear is slated to hit stores summer of 2014.

"It's clear that this isn't ready to launch on existing hardware, and there's still plenty of questions about hardware quality that needs to be answered, but Google is starting off with a software developer preview to show off what will be possible in these wearable form factors," Geek reports.  "Google showed off multiple watch concepts with a Google Now style interface that allowed for notifications to still arrive and be interacted with, but it's clear that they want developers to take these ideas and run with it."
