Jennifer Hudson announces that she is stepping down as ambassador for Weight Watchers. The 32-year-old singer has been the face of the diet company since 2010, shortly after giving birth to her son, David. Since joining the company, Hudson has dropped 80 pounds, going from a size 16 to a 6.

"My experience with Weight Watchers has truly been life changing. I am grateful for what I have learned throughout the process and will always take it with me," she said a statement, the New York Daily News reports. "I have chosen to step away from my role as ambassador and I am excited for the year to come, with many new projects and lots of new music."

Hudson had previously told Self magazine that she originally wanted to slim down after giving birth to her son.

"It really started when I was pregnant with [my son] David, and I thought, 'Hold on - why doesn't anybody know I'm pregnant?' And I wanted to set a good example for my son," she said. "Right after I had him, I began to change things."

The "Spotlight" singer said she started her weight loss journey by walking 30-minutes a day and when she started to build up more strength she added things she liked into her workout routine like basketball, tennis, jogging and riding her bike.

"On days when I'm short on time, I do this workout called trilogy, which is cardio and strength combined. I do 25 squats, 25 push-ups and 25 ab moves, then rest a minute," she told Self magazine. "Then I do them in reverse and rest another minute. Fifteen minutes and I'm done! And I create moments of exercise. When I lived on the 26th floor, I'd walk up the stairs instead of taking the elevator."

The company does have a new celebrity spokesperson, Jessica Simpson. She has already dropped 70 pounds since joining and giving birth to her two children.

"First time rocking a white dress this year... but not the last!! Thanks @weightwatchers," Simpson tweeted recently.
