Comicbook.com caught up with actor Clancy Brown, who talked about his movie "Homefront" and why he thinks Jesse Eisenberg is going to make an "awesome" Lex Luthor in the upcoming sequel to "Man of Steel."

In "Homefront," which is expected to be released on Blu-ray Combo pack Mar. 11, Brown plays a small town sheriff named Keith Rodrigue who gets caught up in a battle between a crazy drug lord and an ex-DEA agent.

The 55-year-old actor is no stranger to movies based off comic books having voiced plenty of comic book characters in animated films and TV shows. He's voiced characters like Mr. Krabs from "SpongeBob SquarePants" and Lex Luthor in "LEGO Batman: The Movie- DC Super Heroes Unite."

He revealed that he is a big fan of comic books and dished on what he thought of Zack Snyder casting the "Social Network" actor in "Batman Vs. Superman."

"... Yeah, I love comic books. Who doesn't," he told the Comicbook.com. "What red-blooded American boy doesn't? They tell you that you get to play Lex Luthor you're not going to say, 'No.' You're going to say, 'Yes' with Odin or Red Hulk or any of those comic book characters that I've played."

"Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor is awesome. I think it's an inspired choice," he continued. "I think he's just going to knock it out of the park. He's kind of perfect in so many ways for this day and age and that character. I don't think there's going to be any question he's going to rock with it."

Snyder also defended his decision while speaking to Hero Complex. He told the site that he hopes fans trust his decision but he understands why people were initially upset.

"There are two ways to think about it," he said. "We know the material. Unfortunately, the fans don't know the material. So, we're casting according to what's happening in the script. And we're hoping that leads to enough originality, enough perspective on what we're doing that you get something fresh and exciting. I understand the canon."

"I'm not crazy," he continued. "I know what these characters need from a mythological standpoint. I think Jesse is going to be an amazing Lex. Let's not forget he was nominated for an Academy Award. It's not like I just grabbed my friend to play the guy! This guy's the real deal."
