Leaked image from popular mobile tipster @evleaks shows a smart cover for the all new HTC One featuring perforated light-emitting colorful notifications.

The Smartphone business is never at rest with more and more companies trying to best each other.  Smartphone accessories add more value to a device and sometimes become a major selling point. For instance, the wireless charging station with some Nokia Lumia handsets was a hit. Adding to that interest, HTC is reportedly pairing its upcoming "All New HTC One" with a smart flip cover. In addition to adding protection to the phone, the new HTC One cover will show important notifications, without firing up the home screen on the phone.

A leaked photo from the popular mobile tipster @evleaks, Saturday, showed a sleek cover for the upcoming HTC flagship smartphone that can show information like the time and weather in colorful lights. The flip cover, protecting the display screen of the phone, carries colorful holes to show notifications. This new cover, like the Yota's E Ink-enabled smartphone and Moto X's active notifications, enables the new HTC One smartphone to show notifications without waking up the device, in turn boosting battery life.

The tweeted picture was captioned with one other important note from @evleaks, saying the new HTC One will be available in Google Play Edition, just like the original One.

HTC is building hype for its all-new HTC One smartphone, set to launch later this month, but other leaked press renders are disrupting the company's advertisement strategy. The Taiwanese smartphone maker is releasing its so-called "Translation" videos ahead of the release date, detailing one important feature in each video. So far, the company has released three videos; BoomSoundMetal Unibody and the most recent UltraPixel. As the names suggest, these videos explain the impressive sound quality, metal design and remarkable camera capabilities. But the video lacks one thing, the actual image of the new phone, which is shown pixilated.

If the leaked image is to be believed then the new approach will likely win some attractions for the upcoming HTC One. It is not clear if the notification will be limited to just time and weather as shown in the picture, but the company is likely to include other important notifications like new messages, emails, missed calls and others.
