Michael Cohen continues his cross-examination by the defense in the Trump trial.

Michael Cohen admitted to stealing from the Trump Organization during cross-examination Monday at Donald Trump's hush money trial.

Cohen was paid $50,000 to reimburse him for tech services as part of his 2017 compensation.

However, Cohen testified Monday that he only paid the tech company $20,000 and kept the rest for himself.

"So you stole from the Trump Organization?" Trump lawyer Todd Blanche asked hiim.

"Yes, sir," Cohen said.

"Have you paid back the Trump Organization the money you stole from them?"

"No, sir," Cohen responded.

Trump, who had his eyes closed for much of the testimony, looked directly at the witness stand as Cohen talked about stealing, the Associated Press reported.

Eric Trump, who is in court, posted on X, "This just got interesting: Michael Cohen is now admitting to stealing money from our company."

Cohen said he told the district attorney's office about the theft but did not face charges, CNN reported.

The former Trump lawyer and fixer has been on the stand on for four days. His cross-examination wrapped up just before noon and the prosecution began followup questions.

The hush money case is moving toward its conclusion.

Once Cohen is finished it will be Trump's turn to put on his defense. The big question is if the former president will testify in the case.

Judge Juan M. Merchan said he expects closing arguments to begin after Memorial Day next Monday.
