Expecting the worst, four Colorado police officers raced to the scene of a screaming woman earlier this month. But instead of arresting any perp they were pressed into service helping the woman deliver triplets — on her porch.

The unidentified 24-year-old mom suddenly went into labor at home in Greeley. Police found her on that cold and snowy late afternoon apparently trying to make it to a neighbor's house.

The officers used the tools at hand: bread ties to tie off the umbilical cord, towels and blankets from neighbors' homes, the Greeley Police Department noted in a Facebook post.

The first baby had a rough go of it and one of the officers rushed the tiny boy into his warm car until an ambulance arrived

That's when the mom told police two more babies were coming.

The three babies, all boys, are doing well and receiving medical care at the neonatal intensive care unit, police said in a statement.

The triplets' father, Eric Mayeda, told The Independent that he is grateful to the Greeley Police Department for safely delivering the "trifecta we were gifted with."
