On Thursday, Taylor Jonas and Kyle O'Driscoll attended their wedding rehearsal at Brookdale Farms in Eureka, Missouri, when an EF1 tornado suddenly swept through, tearing the metal roof of their venue space.

According to KMOV, the couple's wedding went as planned on Saturday night due to some last-minute adjustments to Brookdale Farm's event space and some adaptations by the venue.

Some of the couple's guests crouched in the bathroom while others ducked under the bar for safety.

The newlyweds told the local news outlet they did not know what was happening but knew something wasn't right.

"Next thing we knew, the roof was flying off," O'Driscoll told KMOV.

Structural engineers visited the scene after the storm to assess the damage, saying, "We went kind of pure chaos." Aside from the roof hole, the wedding location was intact despite the storm severely damaging one of the farm's storage buildings.

KMOV reported that James Vavak, the general manager of Brookdale, assured the couple that the venue would do everything in its power to hold the wedding on Saturday, April 20, as scheduled.

Vavak said they want to ensure the building is safe to be occupied. However, he noted they also want to make this bride's wedding a reality. He added that the staff had said all week that they are all really vested in this and feel like part of the family.

Furthermore, a group of roofers repaired the damage early Friday morning. The Brookdale staff cleared the storm debris from the grounds and prepared tables and decorations for Jonas and O'Driscoll's wedding.

O'Driscoll told KMOV of the wild weather event that nothing would stop them. His wife agreed by saying they would have a wedding in a parking lot, a barn, or a tent.
