A potential alternate juror on former President Donald Trump's hush money trial broke down in tears in court on Friday, saying she "had to tell the truth" during her round of questioning, according to a report.

"I have to be honest: I feel so nervous and anxious right now," the potential jurors said,  NBC News reported, adding that her father is friends with former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie (R)m who is a harsh critic of Trump.

She began crying and continued: "I thought I could do this ... I don't want you to feel like I've wasted anyone's time."

She was excused after talking to Judge Juan Merchan.

Another potential juror, a man, was asked about Trump's links to what he called the "insurrection" that occurred when people stormed the the Capitol Jan. 6, 2021.

Asked if he has strong opinions about Trump, he responded: "It's more just the negative rhetoric and bias that he speaks about which is the most harmful." Quizzed again on whether has expressed a strong dislike ofTrump, he answered: "Based on his rhetoric, yes."

A full panel of 12 jurors has already been chosen since the jury selection process began early this week. The selection of six alternate jurors was continuing Friday.
