After 20 minutes of cries for assistance, a Guatemalan migrant woman was discovered dead after falling from a 30-foot border wall close to San Diego.

The 24-year-old, who has not been identified, screamed for rescue while clinging to Customs and Border Protection personnel before she fell and struck her head on the concrete on March 21.

Rise in Migrant Deaths Under Biden's Watch

An investigation by the Border Patrol revealed that a deadly incident occurred close to the Otay Mesa Port of Entry, which is about three miles west. This is just one tragic instance among the many migrant deaths that the area is observing; the number of these deaths has risen substantially since President Joe Biden took office.

It is said that at around 10:27 p.m. on March 21, Border Patrol agents got news of a group going near a particular region of the border wall. This section, which was made up of two separate walls with electrical conduit on top and metal poles supporting them, served as the location of the catastrophe as it happened.

Once investigators finally found the group within the barrier, they saw a Guatemalan lady poised dangerously on top of the second wall. There were urgent warnings to discourage her from going down, and the San Diego Fire Department was being called for help.

Concurrently, US Border Patrol agents engaged with the woman, initially attempting to dissuade her from scaling the formidable barrier. However, despite these efforts, her precarious situation persisted.

After the San Diego Fire-Rescue Department came on the scene at around 10:48 p.m., they found a disturbing situation. The woman waited for help, open about her effort to hold onto her vulnerable posture.

Nevertheless, logistical challenges hindered the prompt deployment of aid. The narrow terrain impeded the firetruck's maneuverability, rendering it unable to position a ladder in proximity for immediate use, according to Fox News.

US Migrant Crisis

Officers from the Border Patrol informed the woman that help was on its way and urged her to cling on tightly. But with these pledges, the woman continued to call for help, and at around 10:54 p.m., disaster struck. A descent caused a deadly collision with a raised concrete foundation, leaving several seriously hurt.

Responding medical personnel saw the woman's serious condition upon arrival, which included extensive bleeding and significant head damage. Unfortunately, there was nothing the doctors could do and the woman passed away from her wounds.

Her death adds to the alarming number of migrant fatalities. She was pronounced dead after consultation with a doctor from Scripps Mercy Hospital and fire department medical officials on the scene.
