A group of Republican congressmen introduced a bill to rename Dulles International Airport after former President Donald Trump.

Donald Trump could see his name on a different kind of building, if some House Republicans get their way.

A group of Republican House Representatives introduced legislation on Friday to rename Virginia's Dulles International Airport after former President Donald Trump - who they describe as "one of our greatest presidents."

"In my lifetime, our nation has never been greater than under the leadership of President Donald J. Trump," Representative Guy Reschenthaler of Pennsylvania told Fox News

"As millions of domestic and international travelers fly through the airport, there is no better symbol of freedom, prosperity and strength than hearing 'Welcome to Trump International Airport' as they land on American soil."

Dulles International Airport is one of the three airports that serve the nation's capital, along with Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport and Baltimore/Washington International Airport. It is named after John Foster Dulles, a Republican politician who served as Secretary of State under President Dwight D. Eisenhower.

"I can see no more fitting recognition than naming both airports in our nation's capital after America's two best presidents: DCA after President Reagan and Dulles after President Trump," Republican Representative Paul Gosar told Fox News.

Along with Gosar and Reschenthaler, the Republican's deputy whip, the bill was also consponsored by Republican Representatives Michael Waltz, Troy Nehls, Barry Moore, Chuck Fleischmann and Andy Ogles.

All seven of the bill's cosponsors have, in some capacity, been involved in efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election, despite there being no evidence that the election results were fraudulent or incorrect. Gosar and Moore were also among the 21 Republicans who voted against giving the Congressional Gold Medal to the police officers involved in defending the Capitol Building during the January 6 insurrection.
