Israel may soon recieve a boost to it's air capabilites as the nation's war with Hamas enters it's seventh month, according to a report, adding to what is already an impressive fleet of weaponry.

The Biden administration is set to approve a sale of 50 F-15 fighter jets to Israel for $18 billion dollars, according to CNN, which would be the largest arms deal between the two nations since the war with Hamas began on Oct. 7.

If approved, Israel's new F-15's would be joining thier current top-of-the-line fighter craft, the F-35, as well as some F-16's.

The F-35, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, was introduced to the Israeli Air Force in 2019 and are considered "one of the most powerful and capable airplanes in production", according to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The F-35 is a "low radar" aircraft, meaning it uses both it's airframe and electronics to become "invisible" to enemy radar.

The F-35 max speed is roughly 1200 mph, according to F35.com, with a fuel range of 1,367 miles and can carry a weapons payload of up to 18,000 lbs.

The F-15, also known as the "Eagle", is an all-weather, "extremely manueverable" tactial fighter meant to give the user "air superiority over the battlefield", according to US Air Force.

The F-15 has a max speed of 1,875 mph and a max ceiling of 65,000 feet, with a fuel range of 3,450 miles. The F-15's weapons payload, however, "depends on the mission," according to the Air Force.
