Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called President Vladimir Putin "scum" for trying to tie Ukraine to a mass shooting in Moscow.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy blasted Russian President Vladimir Putin as "scum" for trying to tie Kyiv to the terror attack in the Moscow area.

"What happened yesterday in Moscow is obvious and Putin and other scums are just trying to shift the blame to someone else," Zelenskyy said in the caption of a video posted on X. "All of this happened yesterday, and instead of taking care of his Russian citizens and addressing them, this duffer Putin, remained silent for a day, thinking about how to link this to Ukraine."

He added that it was "absolutely predictable" that Putin would try to pin the attack on Ukraine.

Putin tried to link Ukraine to the Friday massacre at the Crocus City Hall, and said those behind the attack will be "justly and inevitably punished."

Ukraine has vehemently denied any involvement in the mass shooting.

The United States also said Ukraine wasn't involved and blamed it on an ISIS-affiliated group.

An affiliate of the Islamic State terror group in Afghanistan, ISIS-K, has claimed responsibility, claiming through its news agency that it was attacking "Christians" at the concert.

That has not stopped Putin from blaming Ukraine as the Russian military launched a huge missile attack on Kyiv and other locations, amid Russia's ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

"Everything is absolutely predictable," Zelensky said. "Those hundreds of thousands of Russians who are now killing on Ukrainian soil would certainly be enough to deter any terrorists."
