Brian Butler has been referred to as "Trump Employee 5" in the ongoing indictment against former President Donald Trump for his handling of classified documents.

Once anonymous, Butler is now speaking up and believes voters should hear the truth about his former employer before the November election.

During an interview on CNN, Butler revealed that he does not believe Trump's claims of the criminal case against him are a "witch hunt," as Trump has repeatedly claimed.

Butler gave testimony to federal investigators that laid out portions of the criminal obstruction charges filed against Trump and two co-defendants last year.

The defendants, Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira, who served as a personal aide and property manager at Mar-a-Lago, respectively, were considered by Butler to be among his closest friends until recently.

"Trump Employee 5" had been working at Mar-a-Lago for 20 years.

He broke from Trump and hired his own lawyer, which set him apart from his former colleagues, friends, and former boss, who has been named in multiple federal investigations.

During the interview, Butler disclosed how he unwittingly helped Nauta move boxes from Mar-a-Lago to Trump's plane in June 2022.

This is the same day Trump and attorneys met with the Justice Department at Mar-a-Lago about classified documents. Brian Butler reportedly said on June 3, 2022, the day he received what he thought was a strange request from Nauta, who wanted to borrow an Escalade from the car service Butler ran for Mar-a-Lago.

Butler says he believed the request was strange because Nauta typically did not handle moving luggage personally, and he also made the request in a cautious way, reportedly.

He further stated that both Nauta and De Oliveira loaded the SUV before driving to the West Palm Beach airport. Butler followed in his car with Trump's family luggage and helped load Trump's plan.

He also helped load bankers boxes. Butler says he did not realize the bankers boxes contained top-secret documents. "I left Mar-a-Lago. I texted him, 'Hey, I'm on my way.' He followed me. He pulled out and got behind me. We got to the airport. I ended up loading all the luggage I had - and he had a bunch of boxes," Butler said of Nauta.

"They were the boxes that were in the indictment, the white bankers boxes. That's what I remember loading," Butler added. The FBI would eventually show up and remove hundreds of government records from Mar-a-Lago in August 2022.

Trump Employee 5 aka Brian Butler would leave his job as club valet and manager three months later. He said he considered going public about his role in the obstruction case against Trump for months and said he decided to speak to the media because he wanted to tell the truth and share what he knew.
