Meta's social media platforms—Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram—are reported to be down worldwide, leaving hundreds of thousands of users unable to access their favorite social media platform.

The issues appeared at around 10:20 Eastern Time (03:20 UTC) and have impacted both mobile apps and desktop websites. 

DownDetector, which monitors online outages, shows that more than 200,000 Americans were having problems with Facebook, over 30,000 reported the same with Instagram, and a little over 8,000 with Facebook Messenger. Threads is also reportedly having technical issues.

Users worldwide are reportedly being logged out of accounts and news feeds are not refreshing.
