The Body Shop Closes 75 Store, Cuts Almost 500 Jobs — Here’s a List of Stores Closing, Remaining Open

The Body Shop announced on Thursday, Feb. 29, that it would close 75 shops in the UK over the coming weeks and cut 489 jobs in the process.

According to FRP Advisory, the managing administrator of the company's restructuring process, the update meant that it would make between 750 and 800 jobs redundant, with almost half of it in the firm's head office.

However, The Body Shop said that it would keep 116 UK stores open, the BBC reported.

The British arm of the global beauty chain was put into administration earlier this month.

The shops scheduled to be closed would cease operations over the next four to six weeks. FRP Advisory said it would "support all impacted staff with claims to the Redundancy Payments Service."

"In taking swift action to right-size The Body Shop UK store portfolio, we have stabilized the business," FRP Advisory's Tony Wright said. "We remain fully focused on exploring all options to take the business forward."

Only The Body Shop UK would be impacted by the administration as global franchises are trading as normal.
