Cable news channel NewsNation announced on Wednesday (Feb. 14) that it has signed in former Fox News broadcast presenter Geraldo Rivera and would serve as its "correspondent-at-large" effective immediately.

This meant that he would appear across the network's daytime and primetime programming, The Hill reported.

"Geraldo is a legendary journalist whose talent and experience is unrivaled in the industry," News Nation president of news Michael Corn said in a statement. "We look forward to him joining the network and providing our viewers with his one-of-a-kind analysis."

NewsNation and The Hill are owned by the Nexstar Media Group.

About Geraldo Rivera

Prior to NewsNation, Rivera spent two decades with Fox News as a correspondent and pundit, most recently serving as one of the presenters of the table talk show "The Five." He left the network in 2023 after a long stint as a reporter beginning after 9/11.

Rivera initially said that he was fired from the show, but he eventually decided to resign, saying that his time with Fox was through.

"I'm deeply touched, I'm honored, I love Fox, I love the people at Fox, I always will," he said at the time. "I'll never let anyone separate us, but I am beyond grateful for this. This is so deeply affecting; I love you for it, thank you."

Prior to Fox, he worked for WABC-TV in New York before producing and hosting the syndicated talk show The Geraldo Rivera Show. He also worked at ABC News as the original anchor of its breakfast program Good Morning America and its news magazine show 20/20.

He also appeared a number of times as a NewsNation guest over the last few months to comment on major political stories and other recent events.

Rivera's first official appearance in NewsNation would be on Wednesday night on Cuomo.
