Former wrestler-turned-rapper Tom MacDonald released his latest rap track titled "Facts," a nod to the Daily Wire's co-founder and conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, who was also featured as part of the song.

According to TMZ, the track was the first time Shapiro, a classically-trained violinist known for his fast manner of talking in his Daily Wire show, was involved in a music video for an artist.

Shapiro's famous saying - "Facts don't care about your feelings" - was printed on the hoodie he was wearing in parts of the music video. The track was also a nod to his "Facts" series on his YouTube channel and in the Daily Wire's streaming services.

In his 16 guest bars, the pundit took aim at several famous Hollywood rappers, including Nicki Minaj, Lizzo, Cardi B, and Megan Thee Stallion. At the end of his verse, Shapiro called on his and MacDonald's supporters to download and stream the song, to some success as it is currently in second place on iTunes.

Reasons for Producing

MacDonald said that the reason for producing "Facts" with Shapiro was because major music industry players were suppressing him for his stance on the culture wars, especially in the United States.

He accused the media distribution company TuneCore and YouTube on social media over the weekend for suppressing the track, which he described as a takedown of establishment and mainstream media "sacred cows."

"This is how the music industry screws independent artists," he added. "Whether you like me or hate me or think my music is awesome or think it's trash, I don't care."

MacDonald also criticized the mainstream music industry for allegedly propping up Megan Thee Stallion's track at the top of the YouTube trending list, saying that the industry wanted people to "listen to manufactured bulls***" but not to what they called "controversial music.'"

Face-Melting Cheers, Triggered Jeers

Being a controversial person for his personal convictions, Shapiro's rap skills were criticized by those on the left of the political spectrum, calling it cringy, uncool, goofy, and a candidate for the worst song of 2024, among others.

On the other hand, several people on social media were pleasantly surprised with Shapiro's inclusion in the track. Two of them were his fellow Daily Wire commentators Michael Knowles and Brett Cooper.

Meanwhile, Nicki Minaj—who had an online beef with Shapiro in June last year—reacted to the shoutout Shapiro made, congratulating the commentator for his lines on the track.

"I just listened to it @benshapiro not bad," she wrote on X, formerly Twitter. "Congrats on #1. But it [definitely] sounds like Roman's Revenge when the beat first came in ... [I don't know.]"

Shapiro responded to her, saying that he did not know what he was doing but appreciated the sentiment.

"Now it's, 'Which world tour should I go on today?'" he added.

However, Minaj faced backlash from her fans for praising what they called a "diss track" against her, making her change her tone upon realization of the context.

"Oh no baby, what are you doing?" one fan asked Minaj.

"Did you read his Twitter bio?" another added.

"'Not bad'? Horrible, actually," a third commented.

Currently, Minaj is involved in a public feud with Megan Thee Stallion over lyrics in the latter's track "Hiss," while Shapiro famously criticized Stallion's 2020 song "WAP," Indy100 reported.
