"The Last of Us" fans can look forward to a bigger challenge gameplay wise when it comes to Naughty Dog's third DLC.

Naughty Dog announced the launch of their third DLC pack when they released the latest installment of their documentary series relating to the development of "The Last of Us."

"We are exploring additional ways to make these videos available to watch in your region of the world," Naughty Dog wrote in a blog post. "These are the stories of development on The Last of Us we have so far. There's more to come. Our final drop in the Season Pass is coming. It is chock full of multiplayer goodness with new maps, new weapons, new skills, and also a brand new difficulty mode for the single player campaign. We'll have more information on it as in-game elements near completion."

However, Naughty Dog is vague about its new difficulty setting, claiming its "different" but doesn't necessarily make the game "harder." The gaming studio did not announce the release date of its newest DLC.

As far as a sequel for "The Last of Us," Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmannrecently recently told EuroGamer the gaming studio would want to take a different approach if they were to make a second installment.

"We have started brainstorming some stuff," Druckmann said. "To be honest, some of them are sequel ideas, and some of them are brand new IP - we've spent the last few weeks brainstorming new IP. So we have to get some good steps and see... It's kind of like how we approached Left Behind. Can we tell people a story that's really worth telling, and that's not repeating itself? And if we can't, where can we get inspired - what is something that's really going to challenge us, and push storytelling in this medium forward?"
