Former U.S. President Donald Trump said that Nikki Haley, his GOP primary presidential rival, is unlikely to be his choice for vice president in the 2024 election.

Trump made his comments regarding his first major GOP challenger for the presidency during a rally in Concord, New Hampshire, which happened on Friday, Jan. 19.

This is quite surprising since Donald Trump appointed Haley as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations when he was still in the Oval Office.

But, Trump provided an explanation as to why he believes that Nikky Haley is not cut for the job as the next U.S. vice president.

Donald Trump Says Nikki Haley Not Fit for US Vice Presidency

During his recent rally, Donald Trump said that Nikki Haley is "OK." However, the former American leader added she isn't fit to become the next U.S. president.

Trump further stated that what he said also means that Haley will probably not choose Haley as the vice president of the United States.

Based on his remarks, Donald Trump is not confident about the ability of the former UN ambassador when it comes to handling tough negotiations with leaders of rival nations.

"I know her very well. She's not tough enough. She's not smart enough. And she wasn't respected enough. She cannot do this job," explained the former POTUS via Fox News.

"She's not going to be able to deal with President Xi. She's not going to be able to deal with Putin," he added.

What Donald Trump said is unlikely to affect Nikki Haley since she already clarified that she doesn't plan on becoming the next U.S. vice president.

The GOP presidential candidate said that the option of becoming anyone's vice president is already off the table.

"I have always said that. That is a game they play that I'm not going to play. I don't want to be vice president," she added.

According to NBC News' recent report, Donald Trump is eyeing Rep. Elise Stefanik as his next running mate. The ex-POTUS confirmed this during a candlelit dinner with Mar-a-Lago members in December of 2023.

One of the event's guests said that Trump commented about Stefanik, saying that "she's a killer."

After this, Donald Trump and his allies began closely watching Stefanik for the running mate of the former U.S. president. Experts said that even before the dinner, she had been on Trump's radar.

They claimed that Stefanik possesses one of the key attributes that Donald Trump is looking for in his 2024 running mate: loyalty.
