On Monday, Jan. 15, UFO became the fifth most searched topic on the Chinese online website. It had over 900,000 threads as of writing. Many Chinese citizens posted their own images of the UAP, claiming that they saw the unusual flying object on Sunday at around 6:00 p.m. local time.
But, is this really an alien aircraft or just another SpaceX rocket sighting? Here's what Chinese netizens said.

According to The South China Morning Post's latest report, many Chinese residents gave more detailed descriptions of what they saw on Sunday evening.
They said that a glowing object was seen in the sky. Since there were no clouds during that time, Chinese netizens said they were able to see clearly the UAP.
What's unusual about the flying object they saw was that it didn't have a flashing light. A netizen on Weibo said that the UFO was shaped like an isosceles triangle and had three light sources.
The Chinese resident said that after seeing the UFO, it suddenly dissipated like a mist and disappeared without a trace.
"Recording the UFOs I saw on the way to get off work today, just like in the video, it moved forward little by little, and the speed was quite fast, and suddenly disappeared after a few seconds, I was shocked, and I got goosebumps all over my body," said one of the Chinese citizens who saw the UAP.
While others are asking if it's really an alien aircraft, others speculated that it could be a new kind of weapon of other countries.
"Everyone saw a few hazy light clusters flying together, without a sound, flying and flying. What is this? Is it aliens coming to Earth? Or what kind of weapons from other countries?" said a Weibo user.
The latest UFO sighting was reported by many Chinese citizens in numerous places, such as Shandong in the east, the nearby city of Tianjin, and the central province of Shanxi.

Chinese Experts Doubt It's an Alien Aircraft

While Chinese citizens are still confused by the latest UFO sighting, Wang Zhuoxiao, a Center for Astronomy Technology researcher at Tsinghua University, provided a more possible explanation.
Zhuoxiao said that the mysterious cloud-like aircraft could just be the aftermath of a rocket launch, as reported by Interesting Engineering.
He added that it is most likely from the latest Starlink satellite launches of Elon Musk's SpaceX initiative. The Chinese astronomer further stated that a SpaceX rocket likely emitted excess fuel, which could scatter light and form a cloud around the spacecraft.
As of press time, the Chinese government and SpaceX haven't commented regarding the UFO sighting in China.
