Roughly every month, Google releases a Google Play System Update to improve its services across devices using the Android OS.
However, the tech giant confirmed that they were not releasing one for December 2023.
Android Authority reported that Google employees mentioned in the Android Runtime (ART) Google Issue Tracker that the next update would be rolled out in January 2024.
Meanwhile, Google Play still made some updates to its Google Play services.

The next Google Play System Update would bring an update to the ART module fixing an internal Garbage Collector-related crash that some apps with native code face.
This meant that the most recent update was the one released last November.
Project Mainline is Google's latest effort to integrate Google Play updates into the Android OS.
