'The Modern Family' star Sofia Vergara has requested a restraining order for herself and her 32-year-old son, Manolo, from an unstable stalker named Gregory Brown, who aggressively harassed her.

Brown has been relentlessly stalking Vergara despite the fact he was recently released on July 1 from jail and on parole for committing the same crime in the past.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - SEPTEMBER 28: Sofía Vergara attends the Clooney Foundation For Justice's "The Albies" on September 28, 2023 in New York City.

According to the legal documents, Brown was a mentally unstable stalker who delusionally believed he had a romantic and familial relationship with Vergara and her son. Vergara claimed in the documents that she did not know Brown and that he was obsessed with her.

Vergara said that Brown's aggressive and harassing conduct had left her in fear for her safety and caused her anxiety and emotional distress. She added that he was already imprisoned for trespassing and vandalism at her property earlier this year, but he was still persistent in stalking her.

In July 2023, she claimed that Brown made multiple efforts to gain access to her and her son and illegally accessed the gated community by hiking from the hills to bypass security. He shouted that she "is mine" when he was confronted.

Brown mailed her a disturbing letter, writing, "he'll be seeing and hearing her very soon, my love," and signing off as "Gangsta" in November. "He has engaged in stalking and harassment directed at me, which is seriously alarming, annoying and harassing me," Vergara said.

Vergara claimed that Brown has a criminal record, including arrests for various violent offenses, which made her more fearful about her safety. But now, a judge has signed off on a temporary restraining order requiring Brown to stay at least 100 yards away from her and her son and prohibiting him from contacting them.

Vergara's Failed Marriage

Sofia Vergara and Joe Manganiello's nearly eight-year marriage has officially ended this year. The couple announced their separation on PageSix, saying that they have made a difficult decision to divorce.

According to PageSix, the couple separated due to significant differences that could not be ignored, especially their opinion about having kids.

The couple asked for respect for their privacy as they navigate this new phase of their lives as two people who greatly loved and cared for one another.

CNN has reached out to the couple's representatives to request a comment.

In 2015, Vergara posted Manganiello's photos of their Palm Beach wedding on her Instagram. The couple began dating in 2014 and was engaged after six months.

Manganiello recently posted a photo with a birthday message to Vergara earlier this month.

Furthermore, Vergara also shared a throwback photo with Manganiello in June from a previous Italian vacation. However, Manganiello was not recently seen in photos Vergara shared from her birthday celebration in Italy.
