"House of Cards" actor Kevin Spacey and former Lex Luthor actor Michael Rosenbaum are chiming in with their thoughts of Jesse Eisnberg as the new villain for "Batman vs. Superman."
In an interview with CineKatz, Rosenbaum was asked what kind of advice he would give to Eisenberg as he attempts to take on the role of Lex Luthor in the "Man of Steel" sequel.
"First off, I think he's a really good actor. I don't think he needs any advice from me, he'll do his homework," Rosenbaum said. "Do it your way. I'm sure Zack [Snyder] has an idea. He cast you for reason. Jesse's a good actor. He'll do it his own way and that's the best way. If you can do it your way, if you succeed or fail, you succeed because you are being original."
"If you're trying to emulate someone, you'll always be compared," he added. "That's why I didn't want to be compared during Smallville. I didn't watch any of Gene Hackman as Lex. He'll be fantastic. Great actor, no problem with it."
Eisenberg's role in "Batman vs. Superman" is a hot topic these days as Spacey wasn't shy about adding in his thoughts about the actor to Empire magazine. The "House of Cards" actor's words almost mimic those of Rosenbaum.
"I think [Jesse Eisenberg] is a remarkable actor. He's just going to f***ing own it. I think it's a great idea and I wish him the best with it," Spacey told Empire.
Spacey and Rosenbaum had positive reactions to Eisenberg's casting, but the same can't be said about Ben Affleck. Actor Seth Green recently slammed "Batman vs. Superman" production's decision to cast Affleck as the Dark Knight. Green doesn't believe Affleck can command a "scary" presence on-screen.
"You have to remember that Batman is just a dude. He's got no powers. So the fact that Superman is scared of him says something about the gravitas he carries. And it's not just because he's willing to kill. It's because he's scary," Green told Ora TV's Larry King Now.
