A Texas baby was allegedly killed by his own mother. Law enforcement authorities said that the 20-year-old mom even tried turning his son's ashes into jewelry.

At first, the mother seemingly claimed that her toddler died because of natural causes since she even created a GoFundMe to ask for donations for the baby's cremation.

However, a later autopsy revealed that the poor 7-month-old child succumbed to blunt-force trauma. Here's other information shared by investigators.

Texas Baby Allegedly Killed by Mother Who Tried Turning Son's Ashes Into Jewelry

The mother was identified as Angel Lynn Marie Varner. Fox News reported that she was charged on Wednesday, Nov. 8, as confirmed by law enforcement officials.

First responders who arrived at the scene said that the baby was found dead at around 11:50 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 6. They said that a duplex room was being shared by Varner with the victim's father, as well as two other roommates.

The one who called the police was one of the roommates, who was in the living room with her boyfriend before the baby was found. The roommate said that they heard a baby crying at around 2:30 in the morning.

After that, the caller said that Varner was seen taking the baby from his crib and into a bedroom. Before the woman went back to sleep, she heard a loud thud coming from the room.

This is when she called the police to inspect the residence. After the incident, the mother started posting on social media, claiming that her child's death was a mystery.
However, the autopsy's results revealed that the 7-month-old toddler was killed because of blunt force trauma.

Mother Admits Beating Her Baby

According to WMTV, Varner admitted that she was beating her baby before the toddler died. The suspect shared alarming details when she was confronted by Amarillo Police with autopsy results.

Police officials said that Varner told them that she was throwing the infant onto the floor during that day. She even "applied pressure to his abdomen" just to stop the poor toddler from crying.

The mother added that she realized the boy had stopped breathing after throwing him. However, Varner decided to go back to sleep instead of calling 911.

Before admitting her crime, Varner posted a GoFundMe, claiming that she doesn't know how her son died.

"We are raising money for the funeral, memorial, and cremation of mine and Seans baby boy," said the suspect.

"He died at 7 months and 8 days. He was the light of our life and soon we will know what happened," she added.

On her official GoFundMe website (which has been taken down), Varner was asking for donations for her kid's funeral and cremation. She added that she will have funerary jewelry using the toddler's ashes.

But, after admitting what she did to the boy, GoFundMe decided to restrict the funds from going into Varner's bank account. The website also refunded all the money to the good Samaritans.

As of press time, Angel Lynn Marie Varner is facing one count of murder in the death of his son, Jackson Knight Blackmon.
