US Teachers Concerned About Students' Performance

According to Fox News' latest report, American teachers believe that students are being forced to enter higher grade levels despite not being prepared.

One of these teachers is Marquis Bryant, who is now popular on TikTok. He said that he has been a teacher in Atlanta, Georgia, for over three years now.

Throughout his years of experience, he asked why no one is worried about the failing performance of young learners in schools

"We all know that the world is behind, like you know, globally, like because of the pandemic and stuff, but I don't know why they're not stressing to you how bad it is," he said.

"I teach seventh grade-they are still performing on a fourth-grade level," complained the teacher.

Bryant shared that many of his students are behind where they should be. He said that some of his learners can't even do basic computations, such as dividing, multiplying, subtracting, and adding.

Marquis Bryant explained that his students don't seem to know that ascend means go up and descend means go down.

Via VOA Learning English, Prof. Lynn Fuchs explained that learners who are having difficulties solving math problems need explicit systematic teaching.

She added that these students need to have teachers who are already used to teaching students who have a math disability.

Fuchs explained that this is a major problem since many educators are not required by U.S. states to get dyslexia awareness training whenever they renew teaching permits.
