They have been charged with embezzlement, criminal association and money laundering.

On Wednesday, a jury convicted a Florida man, David Tronnes, of first-degree murder for killing his wife, Shanti Cooper-Tronnes, after she refused to guest on a home renovation TV show in 2018.

Tronnes showed no remorse for killing his wife during his interrogation.

Tronnes Ruthlessly Murdered Wife

According to the State Attorney's Office for the Ninth Judicial Circuit's press release, Tronnes killed his wife in the couple's home in the Orlando neighborhood of Delaney Park.

The prosecutor said their marriage started to have problems when Tronnes' wife refused to appear on the reality television show 'Zombie House Renovations.'

Tronnes had spent thousands of dollars, causing many financial issues, and got so upset that it led to murder. During their home renovation, Tronnes slept in the garage while his wife slept in a one-bedroom studio.

According to WESH, Tronnes hoped to appear on the reality TV show to bail out on the renovation. Friends of Shanti said she was excited about the TV show, but the prosecutors believed she was upset with the renovation and was planning to leave David.

Shanti also learned that her name was not on the deed, and she was persuading David to put her name.

Cooper-Tronnes was killed in the bedroom, and Tronnes immediately cleaned up the crime scene before the police arrived, confirmed by the prosecutors, reported in CBS News.

Tronnes was questioned during his interrogation, and the Orlando police investigators noticed a couple of inaccuracies in his narration.

Throughout the interrogation, he never cried over his wife's death and even lied.

He claimed that he saw Shanti pass out in the bathtub after having spent the day washing and walking his dogs.

However, the prosecutors testified that facial injuries, blood evidence, and bruises on the victim's eyes told a different story.

Tronnes Found Guilty

The six-day trial was determined on Wednesday when the jury returned with a verdict in less than five hours. He was arrested four months later and charged with murder after the prosecutors collected the necessary evidence.

The prosecutors immediately served him a life imprisonment in the Florida Department of Corrections.

A state prosecutor said Tronnes had a motive to murder his wife after she declined to appear on the reality show, saying, "That is an intent to kill."

"It's five years of struggle and pain lifted off of our shoulders," Jackson, a family member, said. Jackson also added that after Tronnes was sent to prison, they felt good that Tronnes was finally where he was, and they could now move on knowing that he was where he was supposed to be.

However, Shanti's family dismissed the death penalty, as reported in WFLA Tampa.
