An AI robot named Abigail Bailey has been named the 'unique' headmaster of a private boarding school in England.

The new principal headmaster at Cottesmore School in West Sussex was developed in collaboration with an artificial intelligence developer.

The AI robot, dubbed Abigail Bailey, will largely support Tom Rogerson, the school's headmaster, according to WION.

Rogerson explained to the Telegraph that Abigail would give him advice and ideas on a number of topics, including how to encourage coworkers and other staff members, how to assist pupils with learning impairments like ADHD, and how to write school regulations.

The AI principal was created to have a "wealth of knowledge in machine learning and education management, in addition to Abigail's ability to analyze vast amounts of data," according to the headmaster.

According to Rogerson in an interview with the Telegraph, having the robot around doesn't mean you never seek advice from people.

He stated, "Sometimes having someone or something there to help you is a very calming influence."

The school has the most teachers in its 130-year history, according to the 'human' headmaster, and the robot will not take the position of human teachers.

Similar to the well-known AI-based chatbot ChatGPT, Abigail Bailey operates by having users enter queries, which the AI then responds to using its algorithm.

Additionally, Cottesmore's team includes a second AI-based robot. In order to integrate technology into the curriculum and provide instructors advice on how to lighten their burden, a robot by the name of Jamie Rainer who describes himself as "a highly trained adviser on generative AI" has been employed.

UK students pay close to £32,000 in tuition annually, according to Express.

Additionally, Abigail is not the only robot employed by the institution. After holding interviews, Cottestone chose "Jamie Rainier" to lead AI last year.

To integrate technology into the curriculum and give teachers advice on how to lighten their responsibilities, "Jamie" has been given this responsibility.

A banking leader believes the bots could be the key to shorter working weeks and longer lives. Many sectors are now depending on the new technology to make life easier. JP Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon stated: "People need to take a big breath. Thanks to technology, your children will live to be 100 years old without developing cancer.

AI in Schools

A prominent public school's newly appointed principal demanded in September that more students be taught how to use artificial intelligence (AI) to complete their schoolwork.

Vicky Bingham will shortly assume leadership at North London Collegiate School (NLCS), a prestigious all-girls school with senior students paying fees of over £8,000 per term.

She claimed that worries about kids using artificial intelligence (AI) to cheat on their assignments had been "exaggerated," and she added that teachers should think about whether enough students are actually knowledgeable about using AI.
