Coca-Cola unveiled its brand new AI-generated Y3000 flavor that was advertised to taste like "the future" but mostly fell short of expectations.

Coca-Cola is jumping on the artificial intelligence bandwagon by creating its new Y3000 flavor, which was made with the help of AI.

The massive drink industry company is now also taking advantage of advancements in the technology sector in developing a new flavor for its iconic beverage. The company has the tagline "Futuristic Flavored" for its new product that it advertises as being based on what the future tastes like.

Coca-Cola's New Y3000 Flavor

While many customers expect the same acidic, carbonated sensation of the iconic Coke, the new Y3000 flavor does not provide the same experience. The aftertaste leaves you with a hint of berries and sugar.

The company produced the new Y3000 flavor with the help of AI, but it is a different version of the same taste that lacks any hint of novelty. This is similar to how there are plenty of flavors for Oreo.

Some people who tried the new Coca-Cola flavor mostly had disappointing conclusions about the AI-generated taste. Kevin Hurler said that he is not a big fan of soda drinks and mostly drank water. His first thought when drinking the new Y3000 flavor was that his flavor receptors were not developed enough, as per Gizmodo.

However, his colleague, Kyle Barr, reiterated Hurler's concerns by saying that they came to the same conclusion. This was that the new AI-generated flavor fizzled out with no pop, making it seem bland.

Coca-Cola's new flavor is only available for a limited time at select stores, and people still wondering how it tastes would have to check if their local spots have it in stock. It also comes in two kinds: the regular Y3000 and the Y3000 Zero Sugar.

In a press release, the company's senior director of global strategy, Oana Vlad, was the one who said that the new AI-generated Y3000 flavor is supposed to taste like "the future." They noted that the "Real Magic" brand platform celebrates unexpected connections that make the ordinary into the extraordinary.

Taking Advantage of Artificial Intelligence

Vlad added that the company intentionally brought human intelligence and artificial intelligence together for an uplifting expression of what Coca-Cola believes the future has in store. Many of the people who have already tried the new flavor said that it tastes fruity and has no hint of vanilla, butter, or caramel, according to Deseret.

One person who wrote a review about Coca-Cola's new flavor said it reminded them of a mix of all the drinks at a soda fountain. They noted that it tasted artificially fruity, like a gummy bear or a lollipop.

The packaging for the new AI-generated flavor comes in light blue and pink with purple and red accents. While the regular Coke has a red cap and white text, the Zero Sugar version has a black cap and black text.

The company's regular Y3000 flavor is marketed to have 240 calories as it is made with high fructose and corn syrup. On the other hand, the Zero Sugar version has zero calories and is said to contain aspartame, said Business Insider.
