Duchess of Sussex Megan Markle contributed a cake recipe to the charity cookbook, The World Central Kitchen Cookbook: Feeding Humanity, Feeding Hope.

The Duchess of Sussex, Megan Markle, recently contributed a cake recipe to the charity "The World Central Kitchen Cookbook: Feeding Humanity, Feeding Hope" and received a chef's approval.

The 42-year-old's cake recipe was for her lemon olive oil cake that joins the recipes in the book that Spanish-born chef Jose Andres has collated. The recipes also feature guest entries from other high-profile individuals, including former US First Lady Michelle Obama.

Andres tested some of the recipes in the charity cookbook, which retails for $35, in a promotional video published in the United States. When the chef held out a plate with a slice of a moist-looking dessert, he put a forkful in his mouth, and despite not saying much about the taste, his facial expressions told viewers what they needed to know.

As the chef introduced the recipe in the promotional video, he said that it was from Markle and that it was an amazing lemon pound cake. As he tastes a bite of the dessert, Andres simply says, "Oh, yeah," as per the Daily Mail.

The charity cookbook has gone on sale and is described on its website as "A captivating collection of stories and recipes from renowned chefs, local cooks, and celebrity friends of Jose Andres's beloved nonprofit World Central Kitchen (WCK)." The latter is known for feeding communities impacted by natural disasters and humanitarian crises.

The Duchess first demonstrated her love for cooking and the power of food to help communities in need after working with a community kitchen in west London after the fatal fire in Grenfell Tower in 2017.

Additionally, Markle regularly visited a group of women in a community hub for nine months, helping them to feed families. She also worked alongside the group to launch a cookbook known as "Together."

Two years ago, the Duchess's cake recipe made headlines for the first time when she baked it for female restaurateurs in Chicago. At the time, she used lemons from her home garden. She said that she wanted to emphasize the importance of expressing thanks and showing appreciation and added that small actions could have significant impacts on other people, according to Energy Portal.

Besides Markle and the former US First Lady, other notable contributors to the charity cookbook include Guy Fieri and Ayesha Curry. It features recipes from WCK chefs, supporters, and friends and creates a diverse collection of culinary masterpieces.

With the addition of Markle's lemon olive oil cake and it being accessible to all, other people can experience the fun and enjoyment of creating delicious dishes while also supporting a worthy cause at the same time.

In a statement on the website of the Archewell Foundation, Markle said that the charity cookbook is a captivating collection of stories and recipes from renowned chefs, local cooks, and friends of the global nonprofit.

Markle and Prince Harry's Archewell has partnered with the WCK since December 2020 to create positive community change. They have worked in tandem to build four Community Relief Centers worldwide and most recently worked to distribute meals in war-torn Ukraine, said People.
