'Sound of Freedom' Actor Jim Caviezel Supports 'Striking Brothers and Sisters' But Reveals Hollywood Wants 'No Part' in Project.

'Sound of Freedom' actor Jim Caviezel admitted he wanted to join the picket line as actors join Hollywood writers in their ongoing strike against media executives and producers.

However in his interview with Fox News's Sean Hannity, he also revealed the people behind the film wanted to be part of the collective bargaining agreement with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP), but Hollywood did not want any involvement with the film or its producer, Angel Studios.

The film was based on the story of former US Homeland Security agent Tim Ballard and his rogue mission to rescue children from being trafficked across the globe, as well as eliminate human trafficking altogether.

While its Christian faith-based roots and unique path to distribution made it a surprise box office smash in the US, film and media critics have openly doubted the veracity of Ballard's version of events and bashed the movie as a Q-Anon-inspired fantasy, suggesting the film's depiction of the depth and breadth of child-sex trafficking were overblown.

Such allegations were discredited by both Angel Studios and Caviezel last week.

Movie Jesus Empathises for SAG-AFTRA 'Brothers and Sisters'

When Hannity attempted to clarify what Caviezel said, the actor confirmed he was not going against the protesters but all the more wanted to show empathy by rooting for them.

"Those are my brothers and sisters of SAG," Caviezel explained. "I support them, but we are not a part of [the collective bargaining agreement with] AMPTP. We wanted to be, but they didn't want any part of this film."

Aside from "Sound of Freedom," Caviezel was known for being the actor who portrayed Jesus in the Mel Gibson masterpiece "The Passion of the Christ." Coincidentally, Angel Studios also distributes the biblical series "The Chosen," starring Jonathan Roumie as Jesus.

The film was originally completed in 2018 and was sold to 20th Century Fox for theatrical distribution, However, Disney acquired the studio and all its assets the next year, including "Sound of Freedom." It was only released to the public when Angel Studios bought the film from Disney after years of negotiations.
