Hunter Biden agreed to build a relationship with the daughter whose paternity he had denied until a DNA test proved otherwise.
Hunter Biden has resolved his ongoing child custody dispute with baby mother Lunden Roberts by reaching an odd compromise.
As requested by Lunden, the beleaguered First Son will not give his love-child Navy Roberts his last name. However, the amateur artist will give her one of his works of art.
Hunter Biden Child Support Case
A peculiar provision in the settlement requires Hunter Biden to provide Navy, 4, with the proceeds from an unspecified number of his early works for an unspecified period of time.
Navy is permitted to retain one of his abstract compositions for her personal collection or in a "gallery designated by Lunden Roberts." The NY Post reported last week that a source close to the first son said Roberts had consented to a monthly payment reduction from $20,000 to $5,000.
The renowned New York divorce attorney Raoul Felder called the artistic arrangement "absurd." He told The Post,
"But I've never heard anything like giving a child a painting for child support. Child support is not supposed to be based on making the child an art collector. Mothers need support. You can't pay for milk with a painting. The landlord doesn't want your paintings."
Jeffrey S. Stephens, an attorney and author who co-wrote the divorce guide 'The Road to Splitsville,' was also stunned. Stephens, who is based in Greenwich, Connecticut, has supervised divorcing celebrity clients who reached innovative settlements regarding the future of their children, but none with abstractions.
Kelly Chang Rickert, a California family law attorney, notes that the law requires divorcing parents to pay child support and that there is a formula in the state of California. She stated that they can always pay more than the minimum, but never less.
Chang Rickert stated that clients have devised "interesting or creative" negotiation strategies. In one case where the children were teenagers, the payor paid for college expenses instead of child support, which would have been approximately $500.
Additionally, she has represented a client with a young infant whose father paid the mother's mortgage instead of child support.

According to sources, Hunter informed Roberts in private conversations that he desired to halt hostilities and "build a relationship" with the adorable four-year-old. The agreement also paves the way for Navy Joan to meet the rest of the Biden family for the first time, including President Joe and First Lady Jill.
The shocking settlement eases Hunter's legal burden, as he was able to avoid prison time last week as a result of a plea agreement that concluded a years-long federal investigation into his tax affairs and firearms ownership.
As previously reported by DailyMail.com, the breakthrough occurred when Arkansas native Roberts took the unusual action of attending Hunter's deposition on June 16 in Little Rock.
Prior to that, the single mother petitioned a magistrate in Independence County to incarcerate the Biden scion for neglecting to disclose his finances. Hunter has never met Navy Joan, nor has his 80-year-old grandfather Joe, despite lavishing praise and attention on his other grandchildren.
The baby daughter with blonde hair was conceived in December 2017 while Hunter was still dating Hallie, the widow of his sibling Beau. Initially, it was believed that the couple met while Roberts was working as a pole dancer at Hunter's preferred Washington, DC strip club.
However, messages recovered from his abandoned laptop demonstrated that his investment firm, Rosemont Seneca, employed her. According to DailyMail.com, Hunter initially promised to provide Roberts emotional, physical, and pecuniary support.
Instead, he mercilessly "ghosted" her, disregarding her texts and phone calls and refusing to acknowledge Navy Joan was his until Roberts sued for child support in 2019 and a court-ordered DNA test confirmed her claims.
