As per a report by Elle, the pop sensation hit the "unfollow" button on not just one but multiple high-profile personalities, leaving fans and followers everywhere speculating about the reasons behind this sudden digital shakeup.
Elle reports that a celebrity news fan account PopFaction noticed that Gomez kicked Malik out of her following list. However, it is worth noting that Malik still follows the former Disney Channel star.
The entertainment news outlet stressed that Malik was still following Gomez on June 25 at exactly 1:33 pm Eastern Standard Time (EST). On the other hand, the former Disney star unfollowed the British singer at 1:32 EST. The unfollowing incident comes months after relationship rumors between Gomez and Malik broke.
The two were seen "kissing" last March 23 at the SoHo in New York City. They reportedly walked while they were holding hands and kissing each other. But since then, Gomez and Malik have yet to show up together. No similar sightings were reported in the past months. The two never directly addressed the rumors.
However, reports say that the baby mama of Malik says she has no qualms with him and Gomez dating. She goes on to say that what matters is he is "happy and stable," and that he remains to be a good co-parent to their daughter, Khai. In fact, according to Page Six, Gomez set the record straight that she is single amid rumors that she was dating Malik.

How About Dua Lipa and the Hadid Sisters?

But wait, there is more! Dua Lipa, the mesmerizing singer, and the Hadid sisters - Gigi and Bella - have also found themselves on the receiving end of Gomez's recent unfollow spree. As TMZ reports, Gomez also hit the "unfollow" button on the Instagram accounts of Dua Lipa, Gigi Hadid, and Bella Hadid.
It is worth mentioning that Gigi is the baby mama of the former One Direction member, and her sister is Bella Hadid. Both of them are out from Gomez's following list on her Instagram.
Meanwhile, Lipa and Gomez seemed to be pals months ago. The two were reportedly excited over a potential collaboration between them last year. Elle further notes that Gomez's unfollowing spree included the 26-year-old actress Zendaya.
As of this writing, it is unclear why Gomez unfollowed Zayn, the Hadid sisters, and other personalities, including Dua Lipa.
