No. 5 Duke rides a four-game winning streak into Chapel Hill on Thursday. A snow storm pushed Duke's trip to UNC to Thursday, meaning the Blue Devils (21-5) must play four games in seven days - including a rematch on Saturday against No. 1 Syracuse.
"We did some conditioning on the couple of days that we had off, just to stay in shape," Duke sophomore guard Rasheed Sulaimon said after Saturday's win against Maryland, via the Associated Press. "These next few days we just have to take care of our body, focus on one game at a time, not look ahead, and just really get our reps. This coming week is really going to be a big week for our program."
UNC, meanwhile, hasn't lost since Jan. 20 and is looking for an eighth straight win. The unranked Tar Heels (18-7) are coming off a 75-71 win on Saturday against Pittsburgh and an 81-75 win on Monday against Florida State.
With growing confidence, UNC appears eager for the chance to win at home against their interstate rival, Duke.
"We were still pretty confident, we had won a couple going into the first date for the Duke game," UNC sophomore guard Marcus Paige said. "But I think, yeah, this gives us a little more confidence. The Pitt game was a big game for us. We thought we really got better that game. We're a little more confident, but I know they've been playing well too."
Duke and UNC were originally scheduled to play on Feb. 12, but inclement weather forced the game to be postponed.
