A Russian woman who uploaded naked pictures of herself in front of a holy tree was deported from Bali on Monday.

Only days after being detained by immigration authorities, the 40-year-old woman, named Luiza Kosykh, boarded a late Sunday plane from Bali Denpasar to Moscow, according to an official with the Bali law and human rights agency, I Nengah Sukadana, according to a Jakarta Post report.

Kosykh was taken into custody on Wednesday after a picture of her naked body in front of a 700-year-old banyan tree went viral, upsetting local Hindus who hold the tree in high regard.

The woman questioned if it is wise for foreigners to take multiple nude selfies in front of trees that locals consider sacred. She further implored that if tourists can't honor local traditions, they may leave Indonesia, per The Independent.

According to reports, Indonesian officials apprehended Ms. Kosykh on April 12.

She said she had no idea the tree was holy when she took the naked shot a few years ago.

Just days before, a Russian man was deported from Bali for sharing a nude photo of himself on a sacred mountain, per the Daily Tribune.

In response to various incidents of cultural disrespect, the island's resorts have pledged to take stricter measures against unruly visitors.

The immigration service has also called on local authorities to create a comprehensive tourist guide for Bali.
