Is Netflix down? As the 'Love is Blind' reunion episode was about to live stream, users started reporting what turned out to be a widespread outage affecting the giant streamer from various parts of the world.
Netflix viewers from various platforms, including the web and its app, pointed out that the streaming service is grappling with issues. It prevented them from watching movies and shows, more importantly, the highly-anticipated 'Love is Blind: The Live Reunion' live stream.
Netflix Outage
While these users were complaining that the streamer became janky, the #LoveisBlindLIVE was trending on Twitter, according to Bloomberg. After all, fans of the hit series were expecting to watch a live stream of its cast's reunion, aptly titled 'Love is Blind: The Live Reunion.' But it did not go as planned.
Bloomberg notes, citing the Downdetector, a website that monitors outages across various platforms, that roughly more than 12,000 users have reported the Netflix outage. On top of that, the site says that the problem persists on the app and website of the giant streamer.
As per The US Sun, the widespread outage inevitably delayed the highly-anticipated live reunion of the 'Love is Blind' cast. Fans of the hit dating reality series have stormed the streamer as they anticipate catching the live stream. But they ended up waiting for a while due to technical issues.
The official Twitter account Netflix tweeted amid the delay, saying, "Love is ... late." But it notes that the live stream will proceed in 15 minutes. However, The Verge reports that after fans waited for several minutes, the reunion episode has yet to stream. The problem prevailed for more than an hour, leaving some subscribers frustrated.
The giant streamer tried to downplay the mess, which brought us hits like Stranger Things and Squid Game. It told fans of the reality dating show that it would be "worth the wait."

Netflix Cancels 'Love is Blind: The Live Reunion'
One and a half hours after, Netflix gave up on live streaming the 'Live is Blind' reunion episode. Instead, the streamer announced that it would upload a filmed version "as soon as humanly possible."
Netflix took to Twitter to apologize to the fans of the hit reality show. "We are incredibly sorry that the "Love is Blind Live Reunion" did not turn out as we had planned."
To everyone who stayed up late, woke up early, gave up their Sunday afternoon… we are incredibly sorry that the Love is Blind Live Reunion did not turn out as we had planned. We're filming it now and we'll have it on Netflix as soon as humanly possible. Again, thank you and…

Tech Crunch notes that this is not the first instance that the giant streamer dabbled in live streaming. The first event that streamed live on the service was the comedy special of Chris Rock, 'Selective Outrage.'
Moving forward, Netflix plans to continue its live streams. The giant platform will start streaming the Screen Actor Guild Awards next year.
