'Joker: Folie à Deux' Wraps Filming, Unveils Lady Gaga’s Harley Quinn New Look

Director Todd Phillips showed Lady Gaga and Joaquin Phoenix in character on Wednesday when he announced that filming on the Joker sequel ended.

Joker: Folie a Deux will be a musical about the twisted relationship between Joaquin Phoenix's Arthur Fleck/Joker and Lady Gaga's Harley Quinn, with a large portion of the film supposedly taking place in Arkham Asylum.

Lady Gaga's hair and makeup mirror a scene she recorded last week when she was singing and dancing on the same outdoor Bronx stairway Joaquin Phoenix performed in the original "Joker" film.

Last month, TMZ published photos of Lady Gaga dressed as Harley Quinn, but she sported a different appearance than this filthy rendition.

Before, Lady Gaga was quite clownish like Harley Quinn and both incarnations appear darker than Margot Robbie's well-received portrayal of Harley Quinn in many films. The new 'Joker' is scheduled for release in October 2024, and it will be fascinating to watch how fans respond to Lady Gaga's Harley.

Per Daily Mail, the production of Joker: Folie à Deux began in December 2022 and was filmed in and around New York City. Phillips has returned to helm the sequel to the 2019 R-rated picture Joker, which stars Phoenix as Arthur Fleck.

Joker earned $1 billion worldwide, while Phoenix won the Academy Award for Best Actor. In 2020, The New York Times also identified Phoenix as one of the finest actors of the twenty-first century.

The musical elements of the sequel appeal to Lady Gaga's abilities as a pop superstar and actress. Warner Bros. Pictures plans to release Joker: Folie à Deux in cinemas on October 4, 2024. Joker: Folie à Deux also features Zazie Beetz, Brendon Gleeson, Catherine Keener, and Jacob Lofland. Folie à deux is a French phrase that translates to "Madness for Two."

Viral Video Shows Lady Gaga Kissing a Woman on Joker: Folie à Deux Set

Recently, Lady Gaga was seen kissing a lady on the set of her next film Joker: Folie à Deux. Gaga and Phoenix were spotted filming at New York City Hall in a viral video recently released on Twitter.

The video shows Quinn ascending the steps amidst a mob of onlookers. Before proceeding up the stairs, she pauses to pull a woman standing on the right in for a passionate kiss, as per The Independent.

In full Joker makeup and his classic red-and-white costume, Phoenix is also shown standing on the left side and observing Quinn. Several DC comic books have affirmed Quinn's homosexuality and sexual flexibility and have even depicted her romance with Poison Ivy.

Quinn's sexuality was hinted at in Birds of Prey's opening animation sequence while she was reminiscing about her past heartbreaks, even though many of the live-action remakes have mostly concentrated on her connection with Joker.
