Last Wednesday, former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and Chinese President Xi Jinping gathered in Beijing. Medvedev is presently the vice chairman of the Russian Security Council and the chief of the United Russia Party, reported Republic News.

According to the Chinese government, Medvedev will visit China due to an open invitation from the Communist Party of China (CPC). Sino-Russian ties, including the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine, have been subjects of debate.

Moscow has now been opting towards China just after the US-led western bloc reprimanded the aforementioned for intruding into Ukraine in February by enforcing innumerable punitive measures on it, noted Anadolu.

Although China has reaffirmed that the conflict must be rectified through diplomatic channels and that nuclear saber-rattling isn't acceptable, Russian President Putin is now going to look at China to foster closer economic relations, including with its ally at the head of the financial sanctions lobbed at the Russian Federation.

Since he has been an associate of Putin's close sanctum for the past 20 years, Dmitry Medvedev has played an essential role in communicating Putin's public diplomacy messages.

They talked about working together with Beijing via cooperation with their strategic partnership on the economy and industrial production.

Dmitry Medvedev, Xi Jinping Discuss Russia-Ukraine War

According to the Chinese government, the bilateral relationship between China and Russia is currently entering its "third decade."

According to the statement, stakeholders also discussed several critical global issues as well as the situation in the former Soviet Union, such as the Ukrainian crisis.

According to the Chinese government's declaration, the "crisis" in Ukraine is "very complicated," Moscow is ready and able to resolve the issues through peace negotiations, citing NDTV.

Xi conveyed China's optimism that almost all parties concerned in the Ukraine dispute would then show restraint and rectify security issues through diplomacy.

According to the brief, Beijing resolved its position and practices based on the facts of the issue, preserved a neutral and objective stance, and encouraged the peace process. There was no further discussion of information relevant to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Medvedev, the current head of the ruling United Russia party, also complimented Xi on his reappointment as General Secretary of the CCP Central Committee.

The United Russia Party and the Communist Party of China's collaboration, he continued, is a crucial component of Russia-China relations.

Medvedev explained that the United Russia Party is eager to enhance the interaction of expertise in governing a country with the CCP and implementing the essential agreement reached by the two nations' heads of government.

 It promotes reciprocal cooperation in the areas of economy and trade, energy, agriculture, and other fields, collectively resists multiple external stresses and unfair initiatives, and helps promote the further advancement of the strategic planning cooperative partnership.

Xi Jinping and Medvedev have discussed the goals regarding the Russia-Ukraine war and how its resolution will benefit Russia-China ties.
