Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation Urged To Pay $20.5 Million for Settlement Over Faulty Housing Construction of Hurricane Katrina Survivors

A $20.5 million settlement was struck with the ostensibly defunct charity by the six homeowners who sued Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation over the substandard house the organization provided for them.

The six homeowners who sued Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation for defective housing construction have negotiated a $20.5 million settlement with the now-defunct organization.

According to attorneys who announced the deal in August 2022, all owners of the more than 100 houses planned and built by Make It Right are eligible for $25,000 in compensation for any past repairs if a court grants their request. The remaining funds will be dispersed based on the severity of the homes' issues.

Brad Pitt's Charity Must Pay $20.5 Million Settlement

This money is purportedly being paid by Global Green, a nonprofit with links to Brad Pitt that was not mentioned in the complaint. Snopes's author Judith Kelleran urban geographer who studies housing development, follows Make It Right's saga since 2018, when locals attempted to enlist the help of the New Orleans City Council and have municipal officials evaluate the houses. Keller said the situation has only deteriorated, demonstrating the risks that can accompany nonprofit housing construction.

Make It Right constructed 109 eye-catching and economical houses in New Orleans for a neighborhood that had been evacuated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The great majority of newly built homes are now afflicted with construction-related issues that have resulted in mildew, termites, rotting wood, floods, and other difficulties.

Angelina Jolie's Reported Lawsuit Against Brad Pitt

The news comes after Brad Pitt's pal said that the FBI is unlikely to renew his probe following the release of an explosive exposé about the actor last week. Although Angelina Jolie detailed the identical information from the FBI investigation in her continuing custody lawsuit against Brad Pitt, a court nonetheless granted Pitt 50/50 custody of their children, according to a friend of the 'Fight Club' star.

Jolie told the FBI that Pitt drunkenly shoved her on board a private flight in 2016, which disturbed their six children. According to Pitt's buddy, the 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' actor mentioned the star's alleged acts on the plane to the court handling their custody dispute.

Since Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in September 2016, the high-profile couple has been at odds over their six children. Despite their divorce, they are currently fighting for custody of their minor children, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox, The Statesman via MSN reported.

The 9-page FOIA complaint seeks a court order compelling the FBI to give over materials related to an investigation into the alleged incident involving Pitt and Jolie. Angelina Jolie is seeking information that would explain why Pitt was not arrested or charged after Jolie filed formal charges against him. According to the publicly accessible but substantially redacted complaint, the plaintiff and her children still do not have a clear picture of how the FBI handled the investigation into an alleged airborne attack in 2016.

Rather, the FBI abruptly ended the inquiry without consulting the complainant, then issued an extraordinary public statement concluding the investigation and saying that charges would not be filed against her husband Mr. DOE," according to the affidavit. In accordance with  Rolling Stone and Puck News, a recently obtained FBI report shows that during a short flight on a private jet in September 2016 Jolie told an agent that Pitt was drinking and had taken her to the back of the plane, grabbed her by the head, and pushed her into the bathroom wall while repeatedly punching the plane's ceiling.

The alleged documents include a chat between Jolie and FBI investigators in which she stated that Pitt's behavior scared the couple's six children, who ranged in age from 8 to 15 at the time. According to the papers, Brad Pitt responded as if he was about to strike one youngster after the child called Pitt a prick. Angelina Jolie allegedly said that she grabbed Pitt around the neck in a choke grip, and that he then flung himself back, throwing Jolie down and bruising her back and elbow. Furthermore, Jolie allegedly provided an FBI agent with a picture of her wounded elbow as confirmation of her ailments, Law and Crimes reported.
