Amber Heard's legal team argues in pre-trial papers that she suffered financial losses in the "$47-50 million" range over a "3-5 year period" as a result of Johnny Depp's defamatory statements against her.

Amber Heard's legal team believes that she lost $47-50 million as a result of Johnny Depp's defamatory remarks against her during a 3-5 year period.

According to recently revealed court records, Amber Heard walked away from tens of millions of dollars by refusing to accept Johnny Depp's earnings from the fifth 'Pirates of the Caribbean film.

Amber Heard Urges Court To Conduct New Trial

During Johnny Depp and Amber Heard's marriage, the sequel was formed as a community property asset, making Heard eligible for half of the revenues. Johnny Depp got $33 million for the fourth "Pirates" film, and he is certain to make the same or maybe more for the fifth. Amber Heard declined to take the money during her divorce procedures, and as a result, no divorce-related evidence was allowed to be cited in the defamation trial, as per Marca.

Heard was charged with three counts of defamation in connection with a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in which she referred to herself as a public figure representing domestic abuse who spoke out against sexual assault.

The 'Pirates of the Caribbean' actor claimed the article cost him $50 million in reputation and career harm, causing Heard to file a $100 million complaint against Depp. On June 1, after 61 hours of testimony from each side, involving dozens of specialists and witnesses, all of which was live-streamed to a hungry audience, the jury concluded that Heard had defamed Depp, paying him $10.35 million in damages; Heard, on the other hand, was awarded $2 million.

Heard's attorneys have since filed a post-trial motion asking the court to vacate the verdict or order a new trial, arguing that Amber Heard had no role in crafting the op-headline, ed's which included the phrase sexual violence (this was revealed during the trial); that the amount awarded to Johnny Depp was disproportionate; and that a juror may have impersonated another juror. The court denied the requests, but Heard can still appeal.

Johnny Depp, for his part, created a TikTok account, apparently as a thank you to his legions of adoring admirers, who filled the algorithm with carefully edited clips from the trial that favored their hero. He secretly resolved a lawsuit with a crew member who claimed the actor attacked him on the set of City of Lies while he inebriated.

More than 6,000 pages of court records in the Depp v. Heard trial were released over the weekend. The documents, which were obtained by The Daily Beast, provide new light on the well-publicized case, revealing additional insights into each team's legal approach, Daily Beast reported.

Amber Heard Admits to Sister That She Cut Off Johnny Depp's Finger

Meanwhile, released court records indicate that Amber Heard's sister informed her supervisor that the 'Aquaman' actress did sever Johnny Depp's finger when she threw a vodka bottle at him. The newly released records include a deposition from Jennifer Howell, a former friend, and supervisor of Heard's sister Whitney Henriquez, who spoke about the alleged finger incident in 2015.

She recalls Amber's sister yelling in the office, "she's hacked off his God damn finger!" while the celebrity pair was in Australia filming the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean film. Furthermore, leaked court filings suggest Amber Heard turned down a divorce settlement from Johnny Depp that might have totaled tens of millions of dollars, as she sells her cherished California house.

After they filed for divorce in 2016, the 'Aquaman' actress, 36, defied legal advice and pursued Depp for the full amount of money she was entitled to. Because the fourth chapter of 'Pirates of the Caribbean' was made while they were married, she might have demanded half of Depp's $33 million.

During Depp's defamation case against Heard, a judge declined to allow such evidence to be included. She was forced to pay Depp a total of $8.3 million after being found guilty of defamation, but she claims she lacks the funds.

She may have begun to raise part of that money by selling her Yucca Valley property in the California desert for $1.05 million, netting Heard roughly $500,000 in profit. The actress allegedly purchased the home in 2019 through an anonymous trust associated with the actress.

There is some doubt regarding Heard's capacity to cover the costs right away, which include $10 million in compensatory damages and $350,000 in punitive penalties. Depp will also pay her $2 million in a counter-lawsuit, leaving her with little over $8 million to pay, as per Daily Mail.
